An interview with the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Australia Michał Kołodziejski, reflecting on 2018.

In the interview for the Polish Section of the SBS Radio, the Ambassador underlines that 2018 was a remarkable year for Poland and Polish-Australian relations. It was an important year politically, as 2018 marked the first official visit of President Andrzej Duda to Australia. Coupled with the centenary celebrations of Poland’s regained independence, 2018 was also a historically significant year. The Ambassador further notes the symbolic status of COP24 in Katowice, and Poland’s role as the host of this international conference.

On a cultural front, the PolArt Festival 2018 was hosted in Brisbane. An array of spectacular music programs, visual arts projects, theatre and dance, cinema and literature showcased Polish culture to the wider Polish and Australian communities.

Ambassador Kołodziejski concluded the interview by addressing the Embassy’s plans for 2019, to continue the development of the foundational basis of Poland-Australia relations.
